CHILDREN can get their fill of the big screen with a series of family friendly film-inspired events.

As part of Eastleigh’s upcoming Film Festival, there will be a number of ghost and zombie-themed workshops for youngsters on September 27.

This links with further family fun with a screening of Tim Burton’s film Frankenweenie about a boy on a quest to bring back his deceased dog at The Point theatre, in Leigh Road, on the same day.

The free ‘Where it all began’ animation workshop will run at The Sorting Office, in Wells Road, from 10am to 2pm.

Residents can learn about the art behind animation and find out how it started.

Working with a professional artist, children can make their spooky-themed animation and see it come to life.

Running at the town’s Swan Centre at the same time is a free zombie make-up and green screen experience.

Children can get their faces painted as a member of the undead before using a green screen which will superimpose them on to a post-apocalypse landscape.

The results will be screened at The Swan Centre throughout the day.

Finally, there will be a Make your own Zombie Pet workshop at The Point where youngsters can design and make their own mini monster with help from a local designer.
