A HAMPSHIRE councillor has switched political parties.

Fareham Borough councillor Geoff Fazackarley, who represents the Portchester East ward, has resigned from the Lib Dems and joined the Conservative group.

This extends the Conservatives’ already strong hold on power in the borough to 77 per cent of the seats. They have 24 seats, the Lib Dems four, UKIP one, and there are two independent councillors.
