A PLAGUE of zombies took over a Hampshire shopping centre twice in one day.
More than 100 bloodthirsty brutes descended on the Eastleigh Swan Centre moaning, groaning and shuffling their way towards shoppers.
Just hours later customers fled in terror when around 30 animated corpses chased them from a late night screening of a classic horror film.
The invasion – which turned out to be harmless – was part of ghoulish goings on as part of the town’s film festival on Saturday.
Youngsters dressed as the undead before strutting in front of a camera for a montage of film clips being shown on a giant screen in the centre next month.
Later performers from The Point theatre and Winchester University donned torn clothes and splattered themselves in fake blood before ambushing movie-goers at the climax of the George A Romero film Dawn of the Dead – a movie largely set in a shopping centre.
