THESE little piggies went to school.

A New Forest school has got a couple of unusual new additions to the register.

Two pigs are making themselves at home at Priestlands School, in Lymington, where they are performing a crucial role in the school's efforts to become more environmentally-friendly.

The pigs are living in the school's one-acre Victorian walled garden and are hard at work turning over the soil.

The pigs mark the start of the school's walled garden project, which includes building an environmentally-friendly classroom and using the garden as a centre for teaching environmental science, horticulture and animal care. Head Chris Willsher is inviting local residents and businesses to get involved in the project to create the centre that would be open to Priestlands pupils, children from the neighbouring primary school, students in further education and adults who want to refresh their skills.
