A PROSPECTIVE MP has laid out his plans for village firms at a meeting of business leaders.

Conservative candidate Kit Malthouse, who is hoping to win the North West Hampshire seat next May, was speaking at a meeting of the Overton Business Association.

Representatives from 15 companies in the village heard Mr Malthouse touch on key issues such as nondomestic rates, housing development and infrastructure.

Treasurer of Overton’s Business Association, David Grist, said: “It was useful to hear some of his views and opinions on businesses both locally and nationally and how he intends to help local business around this area.

“As a businessman himself he understands how local businesses work, which is very encouraging for small companies in the village.”
