IT WAS an idea that had already won praise from high street shopping guru Mary Portas and now it has been hailed such a huge success that it will become a regular event.
Romsey hosted its first ever teenage market at Crosfield Hall, which proved so popular that stalls packed the main hall and spilled out into side rooms.
Young market traders sold a variety of crafts and gifts themed around the festive season, while raising funds for several charities.
Now Mark Edgerley, town centre manager, confirmed that thanks to funding from Romsey Future Projects, another four can be organised for 2015, two of which will be held outside.
Among the visitors was Linda Cohen, of Romsey’s community gallery Rum’s Eg, who said: “I was genuinely taken aback by how good some of the stuff was. There was a really high standard of craftsmanship.”
