THE chairman of a newly-formed residents’ group has appealed to town councillors for improved safety at an accident hotspot.
Sam Kerr-Smiley, of the Nursery Road Residents Group, said he would like to see either railings, traffic lights, or other safety measures at the bridge in Jacklyns Lane, Alresford.
He said a Nursery Road resident was recently involved in a head-on crash there and the group wants to “explore options”.
Cllr Margot Power said: “I think there’s room for some type of traffic-calming.”
Cllr Barbara Jeffs said she would like to see railings.
“The children do very stupid things on the way home,” she said. “I don’t like someone pretending to do a suicide in front of me as I drive under the bridge.”
