A HOST of Hampshire's top tourist attractions, hotels and pubs swept to victory at a prestigious industry awards.

Iconic holiday parks, family days out and elite hotels from across the county triumphed in the Beautiful South Business Awards.

Nearly 300 industry professionals gathered at the iconic Grand Hotel in Brighton for the annual awards run championing the cream of the hospitality industry.

They battled it out in 18 categories hosted by Tourism South East highlighting the best of the region's elite visitor experiences ranging from pubs and restaurants to health spas and zoos.

One of the last night's biggest winners was the The Montagu Arms Hotel in Beaulieu scooping a double gold in Best Small Hotel of the Year and in the Flavour of the South East Award.

Chewton Glen Hotel in New Milton won the Large Hotel of the Year gong, followed closely by Lainston House in bronze with the Winchester hotel also gaining bronze in the Flavour of the South East Award.

Hampshire Food Festival was crowned the best Tourism Event of the Year and the best Business Tourism Award went to Careys Manor Hotel and SenSpa in Brockenhurst.

Bursledon Brickworks clinched the Best Community Tourism Business and also grabbed bronze in the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year.

Log cabin campsite Blackwood Forest in Winchester shared the Self Catering Provider of the Year prize with Corner Cottage, Nettlecombe Farm Holidays on the Isle of Wight.

Shorefield Country Park in Milford on Sea scooped silver in the Best Holiday Park of the Year and marketing head Simon Pitman said: “We pride ourselves on offering a holiday experience that provides a range of accommodation, facilities, activities and local attractions across our six parks, and we're very thankful to the judges for presenting us with this great award.”

Tourism South East managing director Peter Colling said: “This year the overall standard of entries was higher than ever making it extremely tough for the judges. The winners truly are the best of the best and a match for any in the country.”

The winners will go on to Visit England's National Tourism Excellence Awards on May 11.
