SIX men, including three Hampshire police officers, arrested over an alleged plot to commit serious sex crimes have been bailed.
The suspects were held yesterday in connection with claims of a conspiracy to commit serious sexual offences on the Isle of Wight.
Hampshire Constabulary said the three police officers have been suspended from duty while the criminal investigation continues.
The arrests followed recent information from an alleged victim, who is a member of the public, about incidents said to have taken place this year.
Police have not disclosed the gender of the alleged victim or provided further information about how they came into contact with the officers or the other suspects.
Deputy police and crime commissioner for Hampshire Robin Jarman has said the allegations are being taken seriously and promised a ''full and thorough'' investigation.
A police spokesman said the six have been bailed until February next year, pending further inquiries.
He confirmed: ''The three police officers alleged to have been involved have been suspended from duty while the criminal investigation continues.
''This is still the early stages of the investigation and further updates will be provided when appropriate.''
