SAMUEL McKinley had an extensive criminal record before murdering newsagent Choudhry Zishan.
In court details of an extensive criminal record were read out alongside that of his brother Jonathan.
Andrew Langdon QC told the court how Samuel was 15 when he committed his first offence of violence, that being battery.
Later that year he was convicted of committing actual bodily harm and a year later he committed a further three offences of actual bodily harm.
Mr Langdon said his record showed that his victims were all innocent bystanders who did nothing to provoke the attack.
In December 2006 at the age of 17 he was detained in a young offenders institution for robbery.
That attack involved punching, a head lock and again violence on an innocent bystander.
He was released from Jonathan, said Mr Langdon, had a lesser record when it came to violence but had previously been convicted for aggregated burglary in which he was armed with a knife.
Although never used during his questioning he said he would have 'stuck it to' the victim if he had been there at the time.
The details were never given to the jury in the trial into the murder newsagent Choudhry Zishan (above) because it was felt by the court they would be too prejudicial.
