PARENTS have rallied round a school after pupils suffered nightmares when they were shown Michael Jackson’s Thriller music video in class.
As previously reported children aged between seven and eight at Berrywood Primary School, Hedge End, suffered nightmares after seeing part of the video.
Yesterday parents praised the school’s response in dealing with the issue quickly.
One mum whose son saw the film said: “Mr Reilly has responded in an appropriate way. He has done the right thing and I think everyone should now move on. We all make mistakes.”
Children in classes KP/3 and C4 were shown the video without parental consent being sought as part of their music studies, under the subject Developing An Understanding of Music History.
In a statement, head teacher Chris Reilly (above) said: “Lessons have been learned and I am grateful for the support and understanding shown by parents in relation to this matter.”
