LOVE is definitely in the air.

Southampton Airport-based pilot Ollie Williams and cabin crew Lucy Pratt are among hundreds of people to fall in love while flying.

To mark Valentine’s Day, airline Flybe, which Ollie and Lucy work for, polled 1,000 people about where they had found romance.

Meeting through friends came out on top, with 34 per cent, but one in six people said they had met their long-term partner while travelling.

And 69 per cent of them said flying allowed the best opportunity to talk to – and fall in love with – a fellow passenger.

The poll found 82 per cent of people had seen someone when travelling on public transport that they would like to get to know, while 97 per cent said airline pilots and crew had the sexiest uniforms out of airlines, rail lines and bus firms.
