POLICE have released two people without charge as they continue their investigations into a stabbing in Southampton.

A man was left with multiple stab wounds following the attack on the Golden Grove estate in the centre of the city yesterday morning.

Officers were called to the scene at 9am after the 34-year-old victim received serious injuries to the chest, which were not thought to be life-threatening.

As reported, officers in riot gear forced entry into another block of flats on the estate shortly after the incident.

Four people were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

A 24-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man, both from Southampton, have been released without charge.

A 42-year-old woman, from Southampton, and a 21-year-old man, from London are still in custody and helping police with their enquiries.
