PEOPLE from Southampton have been professing their love for cycling by providing quotes for a mural in the city centre.

For the last week more than 150 people from across the city have been able to have the reason why they love cycling and their comments painted onto a large canvas in the Guildhall Square.

Travel awareness campaign My Journey Southampton has teamed up with artists from Street Advertising Services to get them to paint the mural which features some of the city landmarks.

During the past week artists Kristian Jeffery, Kara Strachan, Stewart Smalle have been joined by Cher Reynolds in filling in the mural and getting quotes from the public.

Kristian added: “We have been taking quotes all week from local people, and on Twitter. We have been finding out why people love cycling so much and there've been lots of varied reasons.”
