1. Professor Christopher Snowden is a distinguished engineer with wide international experience of leadership in academia and industry.
2. He joined the University of Surrey in 2005 as President and Vice-Chancellor
3. He has spoken out on a number of issues, including Labour’s plans to slash tuition fees to £6,000 as well as the Government’s counter-terrorism and security bill.
4. He was knighted in the 2012 New Year’s Honours for services to higher education and engineering.
5. He s a member of the Prime Minister’s advisory Council for Science and Technology
6. He is also President of Universities UK (2013-2015).
7. He has just become Chair of the Queen Elizabeth II Prize Committee – the ‘Nobel Prize’ of Engineering
8. He sits on the governing body of the UK’s InnovateUK.
9. He was a Governor of the Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation UK until 2011.
10. He is a member of the Council of Industry and Higher Education (CIHE).
