DAILY Echo readers have gone to the dogs!
Our hunt to find the south's prettiest and ugliest canine has sparked a huge response.
Proud owners have been sending us pictures of their favourite pets in their dozens.
They have been inspired to share pictures of their pooches after the Daily Echo reported that Hampshire model mutt Slinky, a Staffordshire bull terrier cross, was in line to win a national dog beauty trophy.
Her success in charming competition judges has left her owners, Michelle Shaibatzadeh and Andrew McChrystal from Southampton, the proudest pup parents in town.
Contenders to emerge for the Daily Echo competition include Maltese Lhasa apso cross Lewi.
Owner Ericka Buttericka, of Southampton, said: "Words can't say how much he means to me. I love him to bits."
