TWO students from a college near Fareham were taught the importance of keeping sport in their life after as ex-England rugby international showed up as part of a nationwide drive.
Pupils Anna Murrell and Teresa Carrington, from Brookfield Community School were taking part in the Living for Sport initiative, a campaign aimed at teaching young people life skills through a sports-based class.
The visitor was former London Irish and England player Rob Hardwick, who joined forces with the Youth Sport Trust to become an athlete mentor for the students and to show them why an active sporting life can lead to benefits off the field.
The project allows young people to try out various sports from archery to martial arts, while at the same time setting them personal targets in their academic and social lives.
