BEFORE the release of Rehab, the debut single from her platinum-selling new album, Amy Winehouse had been out of the public eye for so long that she'd almost been forgotten.
But the storming, quirky song, together with her strong personality and left-of-centre approach to life, have put her smack back in the limelight where she belongs.
Sunday night's gig at Southampton Guildhall will feature Rehab, Amy's latest single You Know I'm No Good as well as other material from Back to Black and her platinum-selling debut Frank.
Frank established Amy as one of the most exciting and challenging artists in pop music while Back to Black proves once and for all what a remarkable talent she is.
Her more recent material sees Amy move away from the complicated structures of her jazzy sound to influences from girl-groups of the 50s and 60s.
The jazz vibe is still there though, as are blues, gospel and soul influences.
Amy was a massive hit at Wednesday night's Brit Awards where she not only performed brilliantly live but also walked away with a very deserved award for Best British Female.
Tickets for Sunday's gig are sold out but returns may be available. Box office: 023 8063 2601.
