A CHIMNEY fire broke out a Southampton home this morning.
A couple raised the alarm when their woodburning stove began smoking at their house in Cromarty Road, Lordshill, at 5.10am.
Crews from Redbridge fire station arrived and used a hoses to douse the chimney with water to cool it down.
No damaged was caused.
Crew manager Chriss Rashleigh said: “We recommend that people make sure they sweep their chimneys and flues on a regular basis.”
