A HISTORIC Southampton pub is going all out for what could be its last charity day.
The Bittern, in Thornhill Park Road, is in limbo after a public inquiry which could see it demolished and turned into a McDonald’s.
But despite the uncertain future, staff are determined to have a good time and raise money for charity.
Landlord Glen McInnes invited families to go along and join in the fun tomorrow.
He said: “We’re doing it for Simon Says, which is a child bereavement charity, and we have been working with them for a few years.
“There’ll be a bouncy castle, penalty shoot-outs, live music, and all sorts of things.
“It’s a family day and we are hoping for good weather because it’s nice to have a bit of sun and get people outside the building itself.”
The fate of the pub now lies in the hands of a planning inspector.
Mr McInnes said there is no definite announcement date but he expects a decision within two months.
