THE news was cause for celebration at one Hampshire pub.
Punters and staff raised a glass at the Queen Charlotte, in Andover, whose name could predict the fate of our potential future monarch.
"Everybody was up and shouting," said landlady Pauleen Taylor. "I think everybody would be glad they had Diana in it as well.
"I predicted Charlotte Diana Elizabeth but didn't put money on it."
She and husband Jez have been running the pub in London Road for four years.
The building dates back to the 13th century, but it is unclear in what year it took its name from Charlotte, who married George III in 1761.
Jez, 47, added: "It's a lovely thing - hopefully she's a good princess.
"The pub name has predicted the royal baby. Then again, it could have been Phoebe, after the dog."
