HAMPSHIRE MP Desmond Swayne has been named as a minister - just a day after fearing he had lost the post.
The Conservative New Forest West MP had returned to his old office at the Department for International Development (DFID), only to find that his security pass didn't work.
He took to social media site Twitter to say: "No calls. Arrived DFID: Pass didn't work; All my stuff packed in boxes. The End?"
There was speculation that he had been chopped from David Cameron's team, with former party chairman Grant Shapps being named a minister in the department as part of the reshuffle.
However today it was announced that he would return as a junior minister in the department and, referring to the second earthquake that hit Nepal yesterday said: "Honoured to return to DFID. Events in Nepal today shows how vital our work is."
