Thousands of people descended on a Hampshire town.for a record breaking donkey derby.
The event at Eling Recreation Ground yesterday brought in the crowds as the first of the races, which see youngsters ride donkeys on a single lap around the course, got underway.
And organisers of the Donkey Derby announced on the tannoy that they needed more help on the gate due to the sheer number of people attending the event.
There were another five races at intervals until the grand final, where the winners of each race went head to head.
The first race saw at least three falls, but luckily no apparent injuries.
Organised by the 4th New Forest North Eling Sea Scouts, the donkey derby is in its 20th year.
More than 6,000 visitors turned up to the event - breaking previous records.
Families sat out in the sun, enjoying ice creams and taking advantage of the many activities on offer.
These include a climbing wall, large inflatable slide and assault course, bouncy castle, donkey rides, where there is a large queue, traditional games like roll a coin and a playbus.
There were also a number of stalls, including sweets, refreshments and the Royal British Legion.
Many of the children have chosen to wear their Scout and Sea Scout uniforms.
