THREE WOMEN were rescued from a blaze in their home in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters from Redbridge, Totton and Lyndhurst were called to the home in Ashurst after a washing machine started a fire in the two-storey building.
The women were alerted to the fire after their smoke alarm went off and called for help at 3.38am this morning.
Around 14 firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and lead the women to safety.
They used two hose feels, two jets and four sets of breathing apparatus and the fire was out by 4.32am.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue are now investigating the cause of the incident.
