A BLAZE broke out on grassland in a Hampshire beauty spot this evening.
Firefighters were called to an area of land in West Wood Nature Reserve off Abbey Hill, Netley Abbey at 6.13pm when passers-by raised the alarm.
Crews from St Mary’s station used two beaters and two knap-sacks filled with water to put out a patch of grass measuring 50metres by 50metres.
Noone was hurt and it is not known how the fire started.
