IT WAS a great weekend at the Silverstone superbikes meeting for Rizla Suzuki as Chris Walker returned to form with a third and fourth and there was a cracking showing for Cal Crutchlow too.

The Verwood-based team's manager Simon Buckmas-ter, summed it up: "Rizla Suzuki is starting to show its true potential.

"Chris Walker took a third place podium finish and followed that up with a fourth in the second race at the third round of the British Superbike Championship on the Northamptonshire circuit.

"The podium finish was just what the team deserved and needed. It has given everyone a big lift and proven we can run at the front and compete - I take my hat off to Chris for his brave and determined riding. Credit must also go to his crew for their inspired decisions on bike set-up.

"Cal Crutchlow had two good finishes in 11th and then seventh, which is just what we expect of him at this stage of his fledgling Superbike career.

"His lap times are quick and if he can get off the line faster then he has the chance to be mixing it in the top six regularly.

"He's still learning and made more leaps forward with bike knowledge and race craft this weekend. There's a lot more to come from him yet."

For the prospects, Simon added: "It's off to Oulton Park next weekend for the fourth round of the championship and we'll be going there with a spring in our step wanting to capitalise on our good performance this weekend. I'm proud of the spirit, determination and performance displayed by Rizla Suzuki."
