IT may only have been on sale for a short while, but already new Corsavan has picked up some prized silverware.

The newest addition to Vauxhall's multi-award winning van range was named Car-Derived Van of the Year at the prestigious Professional Van and Light Truck awards, held at the CV Show in Birmingham.

Tim Campbell, PV&LT Magazine's managing director, said: "This van is without a doubt the best in its sector.

"It looks good, it drives brilliantly and yet it is still a properly functional commercial vehicle, and not just a converted hatchback."

The award is great news for Vauxhall, as not only were the magazine's journalists involved in the judging, but also a panel of carefully selected experts from the light commercial vehicle (LCV) industry, including leasing specialists and key fleet buyers.

"Our awards come from people in the business who matter, and over 90 vans are assessed each year," added Campbell.

New Corsavan's accolade joins an already impressive list of honours for the Vauxhall LCV line-up, including a prestigious Van of the Year title for Vivaro at last year's Professional Van and Light Truck awards.

Meanwhile, new Corsavan wowed visitors to the CV Show, where Vauxhall displayed its biggest stand ever. Other attractions included Sportive concept versions of new Corsavan, new Astravan and new Vivaro, along with a new range of B30 biodiesel-compatible powerplants.
