FOUR teenagers have been arrested following a crime spree in a quiet Hampshire village.

It follows a series of incidents in Fair Oak at Easter. A fence was destroyed and there was damage to vehicles.

Police are appealing for witnesses about the incidents which took place around 10pm in the Summerlands Road and Winchester Road area on Sunday, April 8.

They are also appealing for information about an assault in Carroll Close on the same day, when a man is alleged to have been struck by a missile by a group of passing youths.

Two youths, aged 15 and 18, have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and public order offences.

A girl of 17 was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. All three have been questioned by police and bailed until June 26 pending further enquiries.

A fourth teenager, a 16-year-old boy, was questioned by officers and released with no further action. All four live locally.

A police spokesman said: "Fair Oak is a very low-level crime area which is regularly patrolled by the Safer neighbourhoods team of PCSOs and police officers.

"Unfortunately there are a small number of people who do engage in unacceptable behaviour in the area which undoubtedly raises concerns for people living in the neighbourhood.

"Residents should be assured that we will deal robustly with anyone proven to be involved in any form of criminal activity and to continue reporting incidents to us."

Anyone who has information that will assist the police with their inquiries should phone Eastleigh police station on 0845 045 4545 or the anonymous Crimestoppers line 0800 555 111.
