THE public consultation over the proposed Winchester park and ride has been extended by three weeks.
The county council says the level of interest and volume of environmental and technical information accompanying the recent planning application has persuaded it to lengthen the deadline from May 18 to June 7.
Transport bosses have applied for permission for the 864-space car park off Otterbourne Road on the site of the M3 construction depot at Itchen Farm.
The exact route of the bus service has yet to be decided. The two options are using Badger Farm Road-Romsey Road or St Cross Road-Romsey Road-Badger Farm Road.
The earlier the site could be operating is spring 2009.
The scheme proposals will be exhibited at the HCC Information Centre at Mottis-font Court in Winchester, and at Compton and Shawford Parish Hall, Pearsons Lane, Shawford, until Friday.
