Police today said they are trying to solve the mystery of how a man was left with a fractured eye socket and a cut to his face.
The man was found with the injuries at his home at 6am on Friday September 4.
He had last been seen by friends leaving Alfie's bar on the High Street in Winchester at 2am. He was not injured at this time.
The man, aged 25, has no recollection of his journey home and officers are trying to establish whether he was assaulted as the man's phone was later located in the street a short distance away.
The man is described as white and was wearing: dark trousers, black boots, blue Cardigan, a faded dark green waxed Barbour style jacket.
Anyone who saw the man or anything suspicious in the Chesil Street, Dell Road or Highcliffe area of Winchester should contact Police Staff Investigator Lynn Levett on 101 quoting 44150307355 or via the the Hampshire Constabulary website.
