A SOUTHAMPTON cabbie spun a web of lies to get himself off a speeding conviction.

Then lying Paul Drover, pictured, tried to push his luck too far and was caught out when he tried to complain about one of the police officers in the case.

The 46-year-old persuaded two friends to lie in court which helped him win his appeal against the speeding case. But when Drover later launched an official complaint against a police officer he was rumbled.

Now, he and his two accomplices face being locked up after being convicted of perverting the course of justice.
