OFFICES in central Southampton could be turned into 30 flats.

A developer has put forward plans to turn Queensway House in Queensway into a development of apartments.

The building was originally thrown up in the 1960s and originally had a warehouse at ground floor level before being turned into offices.

It is still currently occupied with tenants including City Life Church and Home Fundraising, but Wessex Green Developments now wants to convert it into flats.

They want to create ten one-bed apartments on each of its three floors.

If the plans are approved it would join the former Fruit and Vegetable Market site opposite in being redeveloped, with that site set to become a complex of 279 flats and commercial space.

A decision is due from the city council by December 2.
