FOOTBALL players bravely stripped off on the catwalk for a good cause.

Squad members of Eastleigh Football Club’s first team entertained a crowd at a charity fashion show, some of them even modelling in just their pants.

Strikers Yemi Odubade and Tony Lee got down to their underwear, while left back Michael Green, left back and ex-Saint Dan Harding and midfielder Jai Reason along with manager Chris Todd modelled menswear.

As players stripped from dressing gowns down to underwear there were screams of delight from the women in the audience and a round of applause.

The evening, at the Silverlake Stadium’s clubhouse, raised more than £2,000 for the Hyperacute Stroke Unit at Southampton General Hospital.

“The crowd was split 50/50 women and men - all the women loved it so it was fantastic,” said the club’s general manager Kenny Amor.

“To be honest they didn’t strike me as nervous at all. Those two have the confidence so it wouldn’t be a problem.

“There was a lot of banter going back and forth because of the situation the players were in.

“They were all good sports.”

An auction saw more people brave the catwalk, when three pairs of Ralph Lauren boxer shorts sold for £250.

The winner got to nominate three people to model them and these included Allen Prebble, the club’s vice chairman and one of its directors, and ex-player and current head of youth Lee Peacock.

Money will go towards a private room for families on the ward.
