POLICE have launched a hunt for a hit-and-run driver after a boy was knocked off his bike and taken to hospital.
The boy was cycling at the junction of Wildern Lane and Westward Road in Hedge End when the silver car pulled out of the Westward Road junction and hit him.
The boy sustained a serious arm injury and it is believed another vehicle swerved around the boy but did not stop after the incident, which happened at about 4.50pm on Tuesday, December 15.
PC Brendan Moseley from the Totton Roads Policing Unit said: “This incident could have easily have been much worse - as general advice I would urge motorists to look out for cyclist and always give them plenty of room when passing.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who witnessed this accident and would ask them to get in touch with me by calling 101."
