A MAN had to be freed from his car after a tree came down across a road in the New Forest as a storm wreaked havoc in Hampshire.
Fire crews were called to help the man after his car crashed into a large tree that had come down across Romsey Road, Lyndhurst leaving him trapped in the vehicle.
The man suffered injuries and was treated at the scene.
Crews from Brockenhurst and Lyndhurst helped free the man who was then treated by paramedics following the incident at around 11.30pm last night.
A spokesman from South Central Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 23.28 last night to reports of a single car RTC with the vehicle having been in collision with a tree that had fallen across the road.
"We sent an officer and an ambulance to the scene. We had one male patient with minor injuries who was treated at the scene."
