HUNDREDS of people turned out to wave off the biggest cruise ship in the world as she left the Port of Southampton this evening.
Residents and enthusiasts packed Mayflower Park to see off the ship which is bound for Rotterdam on the latest of her pre-maiden tours.
Royal Caribbean's latest and largest creation has towered over the city’s quayside this week..
She left the port for the first time on Friday evening, bearing more than 3,000 journalists, travel agents and hand-picked cruise-goers, on a pre-maiden tour.
Harmony of the Seas is the world’s largest cruise ship, three times as long as Big Ben is tall, and her sheer size has allowed Royal Caribbean to cram in a host of features, ranging from 20 restaurants to more unusual features such as robot bartenders and an ice-skating rink for theatrical performances.
She is split into distinct “neighbourhoods”, each boasting a different ambience. This means you can stroll through the leafy open-air Central Park, enjoy a hot dog while taking in spectacular diving performances on the Boardwalk or pamper yourself at the Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Centre
