IT'S the decade that fashion forgot, but the music is still topping the charts!

The saying Life Begins at 50 has been proven right for Rick Astley who, fresh from promoting his Number One latest album 50, appears at Southampton's own celebration of the 80s Let's Rock Southampton tomorrow.

Revellers will also be dancing to the sounds of former Frankie Goes To Hollywood lead vocalist Holly Johnson, heartthrob from the era Jason Donovan, Grammy Award winners Soul II Soul, Fine Young Cannibals frontman Roland Gift and former teen icon Tiffany at the third annual family friendly festival.

Also on the bill are Scottish rockers Big Country, 2 Tone ska revival band The Selecter, Eurovision favourites Sonia and Cheryl, Mike and Jay from Bucks Fizz, plus chart-topping Toyah and rockers Dr & The Medics.

Retro fans will don their crimped wigs and leg warmers and dance the day and night away to hits like The Power of Love, Relax, Never Gonna Give You Up, Too Many Broken Hearts, Back To Life, I Think We're Alone Now, You'll Never Stop Me From Loving You and Making Your Mind Up.

Organisers have promised an action packed day of general 80s madness with multiple bars and a wide range of outlets selling food from around the world, plus a funfair and children's entertainers.

Young festival-goers can enjoy the Let's Rock Playpen, which includes free circus workshops with the Bigtopmania Circus, face painting, crafts, tricycles and the Disco Shack.
