A WOMAN was sexually assaulted in the early hours of the morning.
The 22-year-old victim was attacked in Handel Terrace in the polygon area at around 4.50am on Thursday, July 7.
She was walking on her own from Bedford Place down into the Polygon area when she noticed a man on a bike was following her.
The man approached the woman on Handel Terrace and assaulted her under her clothes.
Now police police have released an Efit image of a man they are hunting in connection with the assault.
The man is described as:
White
Aged late 20s
5 feet 6 inches tall
Average build
Bald
Big brown eyes
Pointed nose
Strong jaw line
Light facial stubble
Spoke with an Eastern European or Middle Eastern Accent.
Wearing:
Big yellow raincoat
Black jumper
Dark blue denim jeans
Old trainers
The man was riding a very rusty, old-looking bicycle.
He cycled off quickly after the incident.
DC Paul Rose from the Western Investigations Team said: “This was a quiet time of the morning with few residents returning home or leaving for work.
“We are looking to identify this man and urge any witnesses to come forward and assist us with our investigation. Were you returning home from work or en route for an early start? Do you recognise this E-fit?
"Have you seen man like this in the Bedford Place area as pictured in the CCTV images ? Call 101 and quote 44160252757.
“Please ensure you remain vigilant when walking home alone. Although it was daylight by this time, very few people had started their day.
"Consider taking a taxi or walking with a friend, plan your journey home and take a mobile phone with you.”
