POLICE are investigating scammers who have targeted residents in Eastleigh and Hedge End.
Hampshire Constabulary says a trader has offered loft insulation to residents on their doorsteps for large amounts of money.
While the trader had appeared to be carrying out the work by going into lofts and coming down with wet loft insulation, they have not actually completed any work.
A second scam has seen cold calls made to residents in the area from people offering to clean driveways.
Police are advising anyone who is approached by cold callers not to be pressured into having work done on their property, and not agreeing to anything on the spot.
Anyone wanting work carried out should be discussed with friends and relatives who can help residents find reputable traders, and residents receiving visits at home should use door chains.
Anyone wanting to report cold callers and scams should call the police on 101.
