IT IS fast becoming a favourite with drinkers - and it's coming to Southampton.

Scotland’s BrewDog brewery is to open its new city-centre ‘outpost’ next Friday.

Taking over the former Coco Rio on Upper Bannister Street, this will be the brewery’s second bar in the south having already set up shop in Brighton. They also have 28 others across the UK, and even more internationally.

On their website BrewDog describes how it wants to continue “The Craft Beer Revolution” by coming to the city. Their new bar will be based on two levels, with a downstairs seating area and an upstairs mezzanine.

A company statement said: “It’s taken us a while to get over the line in Southampton (as it did along the coast at Brighton) but we have found a fantastic location and can’t wait to convert it into the kick-ass BrewDog bar this city truly deserves.”

The bar opens on Friday September 16 at 12pm.
