A 13-YEAR-OLD boy wearing a clown mask was hit by a car on a Southampton estate.
The youngster suffered head and wrist injuries when he was struck by a Honda Civic in Windermere Avenue, Millbrook.
South Central Ambulance Service said they were called to the scene at around 6.40pm on Monday to find a patient in a “serious condition” with wrist and head injuries.
They took him to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.
It comes as Hampshire Constabulary has been called to a string of incidents where people have dressed up as sinister clowns to deliberately scare people in the so called Killer Clowns trend.
Police say they are not treating the incident as part of the trend and that no investigations have been launched.
They say that he had been wearing the mask in the street and they are not working on the theory that he was linked to a Killer Clown-style attack.
The driver of the car was unharmed and police allowed them to carry on with their journey after they initially stopped following the collision.
