More than 40 anti-Donald Trump protestors gathered in Southampton during the time of his inauguration to highlight their anger.
Having protested earlier in the day, members of Unite Union joined forces this afternoon outside the Civic Centre in opposition to the highly controversial President, who won one of the most divisive political campaigns in US history.
Southampton City Council’s cabinet member for communities and culture, Satvir Kaur spoke at the demonstration, as she also campaigned for President Trump’s Democratic opponent, Hilary Clinton last year.
Cllr Kaur said: “Southampton is a diverse city and a diverse community and we need to let them know that no matter what happens in America or in Washington, racism isn’t okay here.”
