A FUNERAL of a murdered Hampshire man will take place next month.

Scores of people are expected to say their last goodbye to Carl Scott.

The 37-year-old was found dead in a house in Birch Court, off Thurmond Crescent, in the Stanmore area of Winchester on March 22.

Police launched a murder investigation and cordoned off Birch Court, and conducted house-to-house enquiries.

A 58-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder, but was released on bail, pending further enquiries.

A family member of Mr Scott, posted that the funeral will take place at St Luke’s Church in Stanmore on May 5.

The family member posted: “Carl’s burial will be private but everyone will be welcome to join us at the wake after the service (venue to be arranged).

“Please share your stories and memories of Carl with us. A memory book is being prepared and we would like you to write in the book or send any messages to us. Also any photo’s you have of Carl as we want to make a collage of images of his life.

“Flowers are welcomed in any form from a bunch of hand pick wild flowers to a floral tribute. No dress code just attend in what you feel you are comfortable wearing.

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: “ Enquiries are ongoing. We would still appeal for anyone with information relevant to this investigation to contact us on 101, quoting Operation Teasel.”
