A group of youngsters had to be rescued by firefighters after finding themselves stuck on an island.
Fire crews raced to a lake by Fairway Gardens in Rownhams this evening after four boys saw their inflatable burst.
Using a blow-up dinghy, a 12-year-old, two 11-year-olds and a nine-year-old scrambled to an island in the lake after their inflatable sprung a leak.
Firefighters from Redbridge were sent to the scene shortly after 6.30pm after the youngsters then phoned the fire service.
They were then rescued from the island, which was 20ft by 15ft, using an inflatable sled and throw lines from the crew.
They were taken from the island in pairs onto more solid ground at 7.10pm, with no-one injured.
