THOUSANDS of people turned out to celebrate the arts at Umbrella Festival.
The event, which was organised by SoCo Music Project, attracted more than 2,000 people to Palmerston Park.
Project manager Mark Scott said: “It was really successful. It was a bright and vibrant event, which saw lots of people in attendance throughout the day.
“The aim of the festival is to showcase our various arts organisations.
“It is also about displaying how the arts can have a transformative effect on one’s wellbeing.”
The event was funded by the Big Lottery Fund, and following the success Mark hopes to host another event next year.
He said: “Hopefully we can get funding from either the Big Lottery Fund again or from somewhere else.”
