A SOUTHAMPTON man has pleaded guilty to seriously assaulting a vulnerable woman with a weapon.

Jordon Andrew Cox admitted to beating a woman when he appeared at Southampton Magistrates Court.

The 21-year-old of Shirley Road, Shirley, caused significant injuries to a woman, the court heard.

This was the second breach imposed for a violence charge against the same woman.

Southampton Magistrates Court found him guilty and committed him to prison for eights weeks to be added onto his previous sentence of 18 weeks, totalling to 26 weeks in prison.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.
