EMERGENCY services rushed to a Southampton estate after reports of a man threatening to jump from a balcony.
Police officers and firefighters were called to Millbrook Tower at around 8.39pm yesterday, after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man.
A local resident, who does not wish to be named, said: “ I was on my balcony and I saw two fire engines coming towards the tower, then ambulance and a police car. A lot of people said there was someone on the 10th floor who tried to jump from the balcony.”
A crew from Redbridge and one from St Mary’s Fire Station attended but when they arrived the man had already gone back inside.
A Hampshire Police spokesperson confirmed that the man was brought to safety and was taken to Southampton General Hospital.
His condition is still unknown.
