A MAN charged with murder following an incident at a Hampshire home has appeared in court.
Andi Leigh Edwards, of Scott Road, appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court yesterday, charged wit the murder of Alex Woods.
The 36-year-old was remanded in custody to appear before Winchester Crown Court tomorrow.
It comes after emergency services were called to a house in Scott Road, in Eastleigh.
Police were alerted to the residential street just before 11.30pm on Thursday night to reports of a man suffering knife wounds.
Paramedics battled to save Mr Woods’ life but he died in an ambulance on his way to Southampton General Hospital.
The 22-year-old is originally from the Southampton area but moved to Fareham.
He then went to Fareham College where he studied hairdressing.
A heavy police presence remained at the scene of the incident over the weekend, with forensic officers and tents set up as the investigation - codenamed Operation Path - continues.
Police said that a 51-year-old woman from Eastleigh who was also arrested on suspicion of murder has been released from custody, but remains under investigation.
