ONE person was taken to hospital and an arrest was made following a suspected arson at a Hampshire hostel.
Police have said that they attended an incident at around 4.40pm at West View House, in Hyde Gate, Winchester.
A police spokesman said: "One of the flats was on fire and a man was dragged from his room by someone who was either a member of the public or worked at the hostel. He has gone to hospital and one person has been arrested."
He added: "The cause of the fire is being investigated by police and the fire service."
Police were still at the scene at around 7pm yesterday.
Two fire engines from Winchester and one from Eastleigh had attended earlier.
