THE OWNER of a Southampton children’s play centre has spoken of her anger after the venue’s fourth burglary in three years.

Vanessa Crowton, proprietor of Jeffries Jungle in Sholing, was left in shock after three men broke into the play centre during the early hours of Sunday.

It is understood the three, who were caught on CCTV at the scene, arrived in a silver VW Golf at 3.45am before breaking into the Ashley Crescent premises ten minutes later.

The intruders trashed the office and damaged an outside window before leaving, with an empty cash register, at 4:02am.

Jeffries Jungle was broken into in March 2016 and twice in three weeks during the summer of 2015.

No arrests were made after any of the break-ins.

Vanessa, 50, who has owned the business for more than four years, said: “The people responsible for this have not only caused me to lose a day’s worth of trade, but have also prevented kids from having a place to play so they can have fun.

“One child cycled two miles with his dad just to get here but I had to turn them away, which is completely heartbreaking.

“I urge the people responsible for this unnecessary crime to come forward.”
